Do you take your life for granted?

Hey, whether you really think about it or not, you probably do on some levels. I believe that we all do. However, it's hard to recognize. We don't sit and think everyday about the things we have, and what others may not have. We simply go about living in our own little worlds. Take the telephone for instance. You are probably on and off this device on a regular basis each and every day.

Most of us are. But, can you imagine having a telephone for hearing impaired? Ah ha, this has probably never even crossed your mind. Why would it? If you've never been handicapped and never been acquainted with someone who is, then you probably won't be thinking about it much. On the other hand, what if you suddenly were?

I would never actually expect to see a telephone for hearing impaired?

In all honesty I've never known someone who's deaf. Now, I did know a gentleman who is blind. I met him as a Chinese food delivery driver back in the 90s. One night he put in an order for some shrimp fried rice. I was the guy delivering to him. It was odd to say the least when I pulled up to his house at 8pm and all was dark. I mean his entire house was dark. I will say that I was a tad on-edge. Heck, who wouldn't be?

Was this an ambush or did a serial killer wait inside?

You never know what you're up against in this day and age. I proceeded cautiously to the door, keeping full aware of my surroundings. I knocked in a casual fashion. Suddenly a barking dog jumped against the inside of the door. That startled me. Then a benign looking fellow in his late twenties answered the door. I immediately noticed that he was blind. I felt kind of bad for making assumptions. After that night he ordered every week and we became fairly well acquainted. I still can't imagine what it's like to live in the dark. I really must be another world completely.
